Well, Brad is finishing up week two in Seattle and I’m now in Las Vegas.

After an underground bus ride and a not-too-long airplane ride, I arrived in toasty Vegas. The public transportation in Seattle was very interesting. Next Friday they are launching their light rail system, so the “Sound Transit” (cute play on Puget Sound) had buses and the new light rail running, but with zero passengers on the light rail. I assume they are testing out the timings and everything before they really start running. There were also King County Metro buses, and tons of them. The underground bus was only really underground through the city, but it was pretty crazy to walk down into what looked like a subway system and then get picked up by a bus.

Seattle UndergroundHere’s a picture of the underground bus/light rail station. I thought it was very interesting looking, similar function but very different looking than the San Francisco system.
